• The defendant. The defendant in a personal injury case is the person who was at-fault for the injury. It is the defendant’s job to prove that he or she did not cause the accident. Or, they have to prove that even if they did cause the accident, that this did not result in your injuries. • The insurance adjuster. If you got involved in an accident that resulted in an injury, you could get compensation. But, there are many steps that you must go through to file a claim and bring a lawsuit against the at-fault party. One aspect of this process includes an insurance adjuster. The insurance adjuster comes from the at-fault party’s insurance company.
• Defense counsel. If you file a personal injury lawsuit against the driver at fault for your accident, that driver becomes the defendant in the case. The defendant may choose to protect themselves by hiring a lawyer. The lawyer or team of lawyers that represent the defendant in the personal injury case are known as the defense counsel.
